Feral Pup Rescued
Maya was found in an old house in South Oak Cliff (Tx) by a demolistion company with her Momma and 4 siblings. They were all rescued and brought home, but in the morning the Momma was found dead and the babies were lying all around her. The puppies were brought to the kennels and after a while the other siblings warmed up a little bit...Maya was still VERY scared... The rest of the pups are males (two look husky-ish,two look pit-labish /one red, one brown)
On 8/14/2010 We went to Petco in Frisco (Tx), where SJ, her rescuer brought her for an adoption event that was being held there. we sat near her crate , door opened for probably 45 minutes or so. All the while she sat pinned by fear against the back of the crate.. an occasional treat here and there until she began to eat out of my hand and relax a little ...We took her home and she met the pack (2 beagles 1 border collie and a pit bull)...she immediately fit in comfortably with them all and walked around the yard with them...still not much trust in the human part of the pack. We got a few loving pets in here and there when she was lying down resting....that night we put her in the bed with us, where she slept comfortably all night long between Amanda and I.
